Digital healthcare startup Wellysis announced a business collaboration with Samsung Electronics' System LSI division to develop the next model of the wearable ECG measurement device 'S-Patch.'

According to Wellysis, this collaboration follows the recent approval of the 'S-Patch Ex Patch System' model by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

A Wellysis official stated, "Through the development of subsequent models, we plan to accelerate entry into the U.S. market."

Wellysis plans to provide a health data analysis model using Samsung Electronics' System LSI division's 'Smart Health Processor,' a dedicated chip for collecting and processing multiple biosignals, including ECG, in collaboration with Samsung Electronics.

To this end, the two companies signed a joint development and global promotion agreement for next-generation wearable biosignal measurement devices in June of this year. They are also preparing a monitoring service for high-risk special occupations along with the expansion of corporate wellness programs for Samsung employees.

The next-generation S-Patch model equipped with multi-biosignal analysis capabilities was exhibited at Samsung Electronics' booth at the 'SEDEX 2023' event held in October of this year.
